I didn’t know there was enough of a market for half  of an MR2 (does that make it a MR1?) for this to be a thing.

What front half would you attach to this?

My vote goes to half an S2000, making it an S4000 or an MR 2001.

Yup, there definitely is. A JDM shop near me has maybe 10+ rear or front clips at any time.

It makes swapping engines easier since they usually include the full harness.

I mean, you could buy the fro nt clip of an MR2 , but I don’t think it would give you what you’re after...

It’s the same as buying a front clip of a JDM car for the motor, except an MR2's motor is in the back. In this case, probably appealing to someone with a non-turbo MR2, or a turbo looking to upgrade to the later, higher-output JDM motor that wasn’t available in the US.

If mine doesn’t pass smog today, I might get this one for the engine/gearbox , and then turn the remainder of the rear clip into a little camper trailer.

On a scale of 1 to 10 OPPO, how Oppo would that be?

I feel like back in the day people would buy those to swap their celicas with the 3Sgte engine from the MR2. The 5th and 6th gen celicas used the 5sfe which was the same engine family so swaps weren’t super duper involved.

Celica, for twin engine all-trac action. 130-ish hp to the front wheels, 200 hp to the rear wheels, call it good. Or add more boost to the rear engine, 250-300 hp should be pretty easy.

Would you color match the body panels?  That impacts the Oppo rating.

I posit that that is now an F R2. Of course, that depends on the direction you’re traveling.
